We are currently recruiting for a qualified accountant and tax professional to join a leading London practice. Working directly with senior management, you will be responsible for a client portfolio consisting of around 200 owner-managed businesses where you will provide an all-round accounting service to include; including personal and corporate tax, accounting, and VAT services.

Responsibilities:

• Preparing limited company accounts
• Preparing corporation tax returns
• Preparing personal and partnership income tax returns
• Preparing sole trader, partnership and rental accounts
• Preparing VAT returns
• Communicating and corresponding with clients
• Communicating with HMRC
• Assisting in the billing of clients
• Other ad hoc duties in line with the role

Requirements:

• ACA or ACCA-qualified accountant
• At least 3 years of experience within an accountancy practice environment
• Excellent organisational skills
• The ability to work independently and be able to take responsibility for own work
• Excellent attention to detail
• Good general knowledge of income tax, capital allowances and employment taxes and benefits
• Knowledge of capital gains tax, treatment of foreign income, tax credits, corporation tax and inheritance tax
• Knowledge of tax planning and advice, for example, writers’ average planning, advice on VAT matters such as the VAT flat rate scheme and VAT registration and advice on national insurance matters
• Good knowledge of limited company accounts and the issues affecting small limited companies
• Knowledge of PAYE regulations
• Experience of Digita & Alphatax would be advantageous
